In 2010, it seems that no group of land owners or area of property rights is not under attack or targeted by new regulatory proposals. Property owners should recognize this erosion is occurring for three reasons: 1) Culturally, citizens are forgetting the historical importance of private property rights as a guardian of individual freedom and economic prosperity, 2) Increasingly, we are electing candidates to office who value government regulation above the protection of individual rights and freedoms, and 3) Well-funded special interests groups actively lobby for regulations which diminish your rights. Private Homeowner Issues
Private property ownership is the bedrock upon which the free enterprise system is built, and home ownership is the bulwark of stable and safe neighborhoods.

While the government does have the power to take property from citizens, there are constitutional and statutory guidelines which protect most property owners.
